Asinara Island has been a National Park since 1997. On board the tourist train you have the opportunity to admire the beauty of the island and immerse yourself in the beautiful emerald waters during the long stops.
Our journey starts at 10:00 a.m. aboard the motorboat, with a short and comfortable crossing from Stintino, towards the southern part of Fornelli Island.Disembarked on the island we will sit in a nice and welcoming tourist train that will accompany us throughout the day to admire the beauty of the Park accompanied by local guides of the park.During the long journey from Fornelli to Cala D'Oliva, north end, we immerse ourselves in the most uncontaminated nature, where we can meet the famous white donkey, wild boars, horses, wild goats and muflons if we are lucky.
We will make several stops to admire the most interesting historical-naturalistic sites: - the Fornelli prison, - the belvedere of Cala Sant'Andrea, - the Ornithological Centre of Tumbarino, - Punta Sa Nave where the "centaura horrida" grows, an endemic species of the island of Asinara and Sardinia, - the Austro-Hungarian Ossuary, - the small village of Cala Reale, where we will have lunch on board the motorboat and we will make an internal visit to the prison branch and to the exhibition of wooden works by the sculptor of the island.After lunch we will visit the small village of Cala d'Oliva where we will visit the central branch with some exhibitions inside. Afterwards we will stop for a swim in the crystal clear waters of the Cala dell'Ossario and our journey ends with the return to Stintino at about 17.10.
