Departure from the place of origin, meeting in San Teodoro and departure for the mountain.
First stop at Pitrisconi Falls with a walk that will last about 30 minutes. The path, with some rocks, makes it advisable to use comfortable walking shoes. In the summer months there is the possibility of a nice swim in the natural granite pools.
Returning from the walk, where we parked the jeeps, at the forest shelter we will have a small refreshment with typical Sardinian products. We will return to the cars up to the Pala dei Monti belvedere from where we can enjoy a panoramic view from Porto Taverna to Orosei.
The biggest mountain of San Teodoro is called Monte Nieddu or Montagna Nera in translation from the dialect.
The granite massif of Monte Nieddu is protected by the Sardinian Regional Law n. 31/1989 which establishes the areas of particular naturalistic and environmental importance.
Mount Nieddu dominates the plain of San Teodoro and part of the coast of Gallura. It represents an extraordinary opportunity for quality eco-tourism for lovers of trekking among waterfalls and natural pools on the ancient miners' path. Monte Nieddu will fascinate you at every step: oak and cork forests, spectacular waterfalls, granite pinnacles shaped by the mistral wind, but above all a truly impressive view.
The silence of the mountains, the peace of nature, the ancient civilization of the break-up of the Mediterranean vegetation ... a holiday in nature never ceases to amaze.
